FE1 Exam

Welcome to the FE1 Exam Page
for those preparing for the
FE1 Law Society of Ireland Exam in 2025!

  • UP TO DATE: I update the FE1 notes each month with new case law and relevant legislation. The last update was in March 2025 and includes an update around Heneghan (constitutional law), DPP v Crawford (criminal law), the criminal justice (incitement to Violence or Hatred and Hate Offences) Bill 2020 update (criminal law), an update on causation (tort) and an update on Article 267 TFEU (EU law) to name but a few.

  • EXAM QUESTIONS: the notes will always include the last sittings' exam questions and usually go back 5 years of sittings. The exam questions that are relevant to an individual chapter are stated at the back of that chapter.

  • EXAM FOCUSED: the focus is on FE1 exam papers and reports. Most FE1 courses and FE1 manuals do not focus on exams. They focus on mass information which is not relevant to pass the FE1 exam.

  • RESULTS FOCUSED: our founder scored high (above 65%) in the FE1 exam across all subjects and even managed to pick up a few FE1 exam prizes (72% and above).

  • MINIMALIST: these are a comprehensive 'skeleton' to allow you shape your exam answers. It is recommended that you read up on some of the cases and of course, download the legislation from the Irish Statute Book as you are learning.
